I hope you enjoyed the fall holiday break, whether you stayed in the Las Vegas Valley or traveled to be with extended family or friends. It was a great time for many of our staff to rest and reflect on all of things we are grateful for here at Mack. Thank you to our wonderful Nate Mack Community for sharing your children with us and working with us to make our school the best it can be.

With December right around the corner, we are busy preparing for our Parent-Teacher Conferences. This year, Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held during the week of December 12-16. Each teacher will be contacting their students' families through a note home, an email, or their classroom website, to schedule the individual conferences. As usual, teachers are required to meet with the families of each student in his/her class. This is an important time to discuss your child’s academic progress and behavior at school. Together with the teacher, you will be planning for your child’s success. Please note that your child is invited to be an important part of the meeting, so please be sure to bring him/her with you when you come. Please remember that Wednesday, December 14 is a day of non-attendance for students. The district schedules this day to allow teachers to meet with most of their students’ families. In an attempt to accommodate parents’ work schedules, we have designated Tuesday, Dec. 13 as evening conference time. All of the teachers are looking forward to sharing this time with you and your child.

We are excited to support one of our fifth grade students, Nikolas Davison, who was recently diagnosed with leukemia. As he works to get well, we are working to ensure that Nik and his family have as much love and support from our community as possible. Please consider participating in our Parents' Night Out on Friday, December 9 (flyers will be sent home soon). All proceeds will go directly to Nik and his family. In addition, please save and donate any soda pop tops from your home as well as those from family and neighbors. These tops will assist the family to pay for Nik's necessary chemotherapy treatments. Donations may also be made directly at this link (Click Here). Every bit helps!

If you are new to Nate Mack or your child was absent on picture day this year, please be ready for make-up picture day, this Wednesday, Nov. 30. We don't want anyone to miss the opportunity to be pictured in our yearbook.

That's it for now!
